After viewing our class presentations, I learned a couple of things with regards to what I need to do when designing my end-of-year magazine and presentation. Firstly, my presentation will look much better if I match the color and design scheme of my presentation with my magazine's house style. I feel this would pair especially well if I focused on the psychological effects of certain font and color choices I made in my magazine, which is something most groups didn't do. Groups which didn't do these two things tended toward less sophisticated analysis and PowerPoint presentations which appeared more amateur. In general, analysis should also be coherent and purposeful. One group's presentation sounded like a schizophrenic had just free-versed a bad poem he wrote and was now elaborating on his own poem like it wasn't word salad but instead something really deep. I want my magazine to be about novel developments in physics and the computer sciences. I think I want a simple color scheme: black, white, red, and blue. For fonts, I want to use something minimalist and modern. Because I am a fan of tech magazines like Wired and Vice Motherboard, I think it would be useful to borrow some of their strategies for clean page design. I happen to know from my time learning web development that Google Fonts has hundreds of fonts exactly like the the kind I have in mind for this goal.  Finally, I would like for my magazine's texture to be something flat and metallic, but in such a way that it pairs well with my desire for a minimalist implementation of fonts and colors. The images I chose for my mood board represent the sort of theme I'm going for in the magazine.
